What's cheaper? A computer or a laptop?

My computer is so old, and so slow that I can even open up a new window in less that 2 hours. We've restored it, but it went back to being slow. Now I'm trying to persuade my dad into letting us et anew laptop/computer, but I need to know, which one is cheaper?
